IOC Selects Site for Indian Cracker

Indian Oil Corp.(IOC;New Delhi) says it has selected Panipat,India,the site of its aromatics and purified terephthalic acid complex,for a previously announced 800,000-m.t./year naphtha cracker complex (CW,June 2,p.18).Lummus Global has been selected to provide technology for the cracker.The unit will have capacity for 800,000 m.t./year of ethylene and 500,000 m.t./year of propylene,and IOC says it will produce a further 100,000 m.t./year of propylene from fluid catalytic cracking streams at its Panipat refinery.
