The conventional method is to protect the infeed point of a domestic distribution cabinet upstream of the meter by means of a fuse. The new mains circuit-breaker from Siemens, which is distinguished by its selectivity in relation to otherprotective devices connected upstream and downstream, is far more user-friendly. This reflects present-day wiring practice and takes equal account of the interests of both the utility and the owner of the installation.
