One of the key problems in the biochemistry of metal-containing proteins is to understand how the function of the protein is related to the structure and dynamics of the metal ion binding site.Fundamental questions that may be addressed are,for example:How does the metal ion binding site of an enzyme change during catalysis;how do dynamic processes affect the reaction mechanism;how does the structure of a metal ion binding site depend on the redox state;or how do two redox proteins"recognize"each
