摘要

In 2007 and 2008, the performance of 6 cultivars of sugarbeet as affected by Beet soil-borne virus (BSBV) was studied. The cultivars consisted of one cultivar susceptible to rhizomania, 4 cultivars resistant to rhizomania, and one cultivar not susceptible to rhizomania and Heterodera schachtii. Polyclonal antibodies against BSBV used in TAS-ELISA showed a positive reaction only with samples of sugarbeet from rhizomania-susceptible cultivars. In every sample, BSBV was detected by RT-PCR. The weight and sugar content of rhizomania-susceptible roots were slightly lower than those of the other cultivars. BSBV did not cause significant damage to the cultivars.
