Effect of dried common thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) on the development of grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius L.).

Studies were carried out on the effect of common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) powder on the development and fecundity of grain weevil (Sitophilus granarius). Thyme was applied at two doses and added in a loose form and in shields. An increasing thyme dose resulted in a longer time of the pest generation development, a shorter emergence of offspring generation and a lower fecundity index value. In the combination with thyme applied at a reduced dose and in shields, the data recorded did not differ significantly from the control.
