Influence of cereal seed dressing on vigor after one year period of storage.

The influence of chemical seed dressing on the germination capacity and vigour of some cereal grains after one year of storage was investigated. The experiment was conducted on grains of spring barley, maize, oat, spring wheat, winter barley, winter wheat, winter triticale and winter rye. Treatments included chemical seed dressing with Baytan Universal 094 FS (triadimenol) and Vitavax 200 FS (carboxin). Species of cereals compared in the experiment differed in reaction to the kind of seed dressing. The application of Baytan Universal 094 FS caused the seed value parameters to decrease. Storage of dressed grain for one year did not cause any clear changes in the sowing value, but pointed to the reduction of germination capacity especially in naked grains.
