Evaluation of weed control efficacy of herbicides in seed plantation of Festulolium braunii.

Field experiments were conducted in 2006-2007 to investigate the influence of different herbicide treatments on weed control efficacy as well as their effect on seed yield of Festulolium braunii cv. Felopa in the first year of utilization. The herbicide treatments resulted in 41-71% weed control efficacy according to analyses of fresh mass of weeds. The best results were obtained when Lontrel 300 SL+Chwastox Extra 300 SL was applied. All analyzed treatments had a positive effect on seed yield of festulolium. The highest increase (36.8%) of the seed yield was obtained in the case of Lontrel 300 SL+Chwastox Extra 300 SL application. The applied herbicides had a positive effect on spikelet structure and floret site utilization.
