Experiments were performed in 2003/04, 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons on winter wheat cv. Emika. Seeds used in the experiments were naturally infested with teliospores of Tilletia caries [T. tritici] and T. laevis. The efficacy and profitability of seed treatments, i.e. Raxil 060 FS (tebuconazole) and Vitavax 2000 FS (carboxin and thiram), in controlling common bunt were evaluated. The average control efficacy against T. caries and T. laevis was 100% and 99%, respectively. Grain yield from treated plots was significantly higher as compared to the untreated control. Under conditions of high incidence of common bunt, the average profitability of seed treatment with Raxil 060 FS was significantly higher in comparison with Vitavax 2000 FS. The profitability of using both products was very high.
