In field experiments conducted in Poland, from 2001 to 2004, the influence of irrigation, cultivation technology and nitrogen (N) fertilizer application on weed infestation in winter wheat was investigated. Irrigation did not differ the number of weeds per unit area, but decreased their weight. In medium- and height-input technologies, compared to the low-input one, the number of weeds was lower by 5.5 times, whereas the weights were lower by 11.1 and 14.3 times, respectively. Application of N fertilizer increased the number and weight of weeds only in the low-input technology..
