The efficacy of several organic and mineral product compounds in controlling downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora cubensis) infecting cucumber cv. Sremski F1 and the resistant cv. Izyd F1 was determined in 2004. All the tested products available for the organic cultivation of cucumber provided satisfactory control of downy mildew. Grevit 200 SL (extract of grapefruit) at 1.5 litres/ha was the most effective in controlling the disease, although it was less effective compared to the standard fungicides (Previcur 607 SL (prothiocarb) and Acrobat 69 WP (dimethomorph))..
