Epidemic incidence of sclerotinia rot on Virginia mallow.

摘要

According to our previous study sclerotinia rot became the most dangerous disease of sida. To confirm this observation nursery inoculation test was performed. It was found that Sclerotinia sclerotiorum caused preemergence and emergence rot of sida seedlings. The important role in infection had saprophytic mycelium in the soil. To control seedling sclerotinia rot seed treatments were tested. It was noted that seed treatment could be used to control seedling diseases. In 2008 field observation of sclerotinia rot was also conducted. According to the obtained data sclerotinia symptoms developed gradually during the vegetation season. Results suggested that designation of fungicide treatment could be very difficult. A high incidence of sclerotinia root could damage a whole sida plantation.
