The influence of different herbicide doses and foliar fertilization on quality of winter wheat grain.

A field experiment was carried out during 2006-08 on rendzina soil in Poland to evaluate the influence of different doses of herbicides Mustang 306 SE (florasulam) and Attribut 79 WG (propoxycarbazone-sodium), used in full, 75 and 50% doses, as well as foliar fertilizers Insol 3 and FoliCare 18:18:18 on the quality of winter wheat grain. Control object was not treated with herbicides or foliar fertilizers. Herbicide treatments were characterised by a significantly higher sedimentation index as well as protein content in comparison with the control, especially when applied in half doses. Reduction of herbicide doses to 75 or 50% significantly increased nitrogen and sodium content in relation to the full dose. Foliar fertilizer Insol 3 positively affected the accumulation of potassium and protein in wheat grain whereas FoliCare 18:18:18 increased the content of nitrogen.
