Field studies were conducted in Poland to assess the changes in weed seed soil bank depending on the percentage of oats in specialized crop rotations. Experimental treatments were 5 crop rotations, i.e. potatoxx-oats-field pea-winter rye, potatox-oats-winter rye, potatox-oats-winter rye + stubble crop, oats-winter rye and oats-winter rye + stubble crop. Weed infestation assessment was conducted in oats. The number and species composition of weed seeds in the ploughing layer were determined by direct method modified by Pawpowski. Increasing the percentage of oats by 50% in the rotation limited the number of new weed seeds compared to the rotation with 33% of oats and similarly affected weed infestation of the soil in traditional rotation. Ploughing down the stubble crop supported the reduction of the weed seed soil bank. High percentage of oats in the rotation decreased the number of seeds of nonocotyledonous weeds in the soil..
