conference recap: Break New Ground at the Carlson 2009 User Conference

Last year, as part of its silver anniversary, Carlson Software celebrated 25 years of being in business by holding a user conference. How did they follow that up this year? Why of course, by staging the 2nd Annual Carlson Software User Conference. Held at the Lexington Convention Center in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, the conference took place in the same complex as the Hyatt Regency Lexington and Rupp Arena. If you stay at the Hyatt hotel, this makes for a convenient arrangement, as you never even have to venture outdoors during the entire conference (I did once just to walk around the surrounding area for some exercise). With the theme Break New Ground, the purpose of the conference was to have users meet with Carlson staff and other experts to learn fundamentals and advanced tools, help guide future software development by providing feedback, preview upcoming product releases, and share ideas with other users.
