Use of genetic markers in animal breeding

摘要

The potential applications of molecular genetic markers for population management and the analysis of genetic variation in livestock are described. Particular attention is paid to the detection of quantitative trait loci which affect economically important traits. Methods of detecting performance-related genes linked to molecular markers are also considered.
