INTERSECT - Collaboration: Are you cashing or clashing with your GIS and surveying team members?

Collaboration is the one item that makes the biggest difference between cashing and clashing. It's not just the individual team members' education or experience or the piece of technology that will get the job done bigger, better, faster. It's all those things working together--collaboration--that makes the difference. But just saying you want to work together to get a better bottom line doesn't make it happen. It helps to have a solid roadmap that highlights both the mile markers of success (cashing) and the pitfalls (clashing) of failure so your journey is as smooth as possible. Here is a sample of a roadmap that Randy and I often share before we start a new project. As the old sayings go, "Working together works" and "There is no 'I' in team." Janet has labeled the thoughts behind those sayings as collaboration. And I would agree that working together as a team does make the difference in a successful project for your client and your success on the project financially.
