Different options for the criteria for identifying endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) were issued for consultation by the European Commission (29 September). The consultation aims to collect information for an impact assessment on the different criteria and policy options. Once agreed, the criteria will used to identify EDCS as part of the implementation of EU Regulations on biocides and pesticides. The options include using EDC categories based on the strength of evidence, as proposed by Denmark, and including potency as an element of hazard characterisation, which is supported by the chemical industry.
