摘要

On 1 September 2013 the new EU biocidal products Regulation (BPR) entered into force. Since then, and for the frst time ever, requirements for treated articles apply, bringing companies, and in particular retailers, face to face with major challenges. One of these is, of course, the ban stated in Article 58(2). This says that treated articles cannot be placed on the market unless all active substances contained in the biocidal products that it was treated with or incorporates are included in the approved substances list (Article 9(2)), for the relevant product type and use, or in Annex I to the BPR, and that any conditions or restrictions specifed therein are met.
