Dow shuts TDI plant in the U.S.

Dow Chemical has permanently ceased production at its Train 1 toluene diisocyanate (TDI) production line in Freeport,Texas/USA,which has been idle since December 2001.A second TDI production train at Freeport will continue to operate.Dow originally idled the 130 million lb/y train because of weak demand for TDI and abundant supply.
