New AMS Dates for Palaeolithic and Mesolithic Camp Sites and Single Finds in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia (Germany)

A summary is given of 23 direct AMS radiocarbon dales for Palaeolithic and Mesolithic camp sites and single finds in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia (Germany). These new radiocarbon dates not only complement earlier results on the Upper Palaeolithic settlement in Central Germany, but they also provide new data for Palaeolithic and Mesolithic hunting and fishing gear in northern Europe. In addition, the age of the first JNlesolithic cremation burial in Germany has now been confirmed and that of a child's lower jaw from the Ilsenhohle at Ranis had to be corrected.
