Effects of dietary fibre and folates on risk for colorectal cancer are discussed with particular reference to: the European Prospective Investigation on Cancer and Nutrition Study (EPIC); effects of fibre on the gastrointestinal tract; adjustment of the impact of dietary fibre on colorectal cancer risk for folate; and re-analysis of the EPIC data.
