Tobacco control: Economic aspects of smoking

Preventive Medicine has always had a strong commitment towards tobacco control. Ernst Wynder, its founder, first reported in the English literature the association between smoking and lung cancer (Wynder and Graham, 1950), This commitment has been maintained over the last few years. Since January 2005 only, Preventive Medicine published over 300 original papers on tobacco.
