Since the launch of the REACH Regulation, substantial progress in the management of chemical substances has been achieved in Europe. REACH was revolutionary when it was introduced and is bringing about many positive changes: protecting people and nature by restricting the use of the most concerning chemicals, through the restriction and authorisation processes. It is also giving companies better knowledge of the chemicals used and produced in Europe as well as their risks, thereby improving risk management measures and increasing substitution.
