The automated printroom has leapt from concept to reality and suppliers have a wealth of schemes and specialists on hand to help implement new technology and practices across the print process. At the tail end of the last decade, Komori had a concept called 'Printroom 2000'. The illustration that accompanied the concept was widely used in the media at the time, because it perfectly illustrated the slick, networked print company of the future with links between pre-press, press and post-press.
