Horizon SPF/FC-20

This bookletmaker met demand forfaster book production, while adding features to even outstress on the rollers. In 1997, the growing demand for faster booklet production prompted Horizon to introduce the SPF/FC-20 line, an upgrade on its SPF/FC-10 and 10 II bookletmaking systems. To the uninitiated, the SPF-20 is the bookletmaker and the FC-20 is the fore-edge trimmer, and, unlike its predecessor, the machine was developed to move on its chassis and register to the centre of the in-fed sets. This evened the stress and wear across the rollers and allowed for faster set-ups and inline operation with upstream digital print engines. The design and paper path of the new machine resulted in an increase in production speed, from 2,600 booklets per hour (bph) with the earlier machine to 4,000bph for the SPF/FC-20.
