Wacker-Chemie says it is raising polysilicon capacity at Burghausen,Germany from 4,200 m.t./year,to 5,000 m.t./year,for completion by mid-2004.The project is in response to rising demand from the semiconductor industry,particularly expansions in 300-millimeterwafer production,and very strong growth in the solar cell industry,Wacker says.
