Canada’s Chemicals Management Plan – achievements and priorities

Canada has made strides in assessing and managing chemicals under its Chemicals Management Plan (CMP). The programme has been supported since its inception by members of the ICG, the Cepa industry coordinating group, and a longstanding forum for regulatory and technical discussion among industry sectors and government on matters related to chemicals management. Current membership extends to 26 industry associations, ranging from materials extractors to chemical producers and distributors, and users such as consumer products. The ICG meets several times a year in the Toronto area, and holds its Cepa Update Conference every 18 months – the next being in spring 2016.
