US EPA: meeting our commitments

Last year I made commitments as to what we were going to achieve. As a public official, I believe that it is important to say what we are going to do and move ahead. I’m proud to say that, as we begin 2014, we did what we set out to do. As you can see from our Chemicals Management Checklist, even with our limited authority under the Toxic Substances Control Act (see blog) we made significant progress to increase chemical safety. We are especially proud of our efforts in 2013 to assess chemical safety and to get chemical information into the hands of chemical product manufacturers, developers, and the public to enable them to make safer chemical choices.
