Current and emerging chemical regulations around the world are changing the way supply chains operate, especially when it comes to managing regulatory compliance and related risks. This has been particularly marked in Europe following the introduction of the REACH Regulation. The REACH principle of “no data, no market” effectively means that if chemical does not comply with REACH, it cannot be placed on the market in the European Economic Area (EEA). Now that the implications of REACH are becoming clearer, we see that some chemicals are not as readily available as before, and finding suppliers that have taken care of the compliance requirements, such as registration, are difficult to find.
