Ripe, interlinks and EIES

The REACH Information Portal for Enforcement (Ripe) was developed by ECHA in 2011 to give inspectors direct access to data from registration dossiers. Inspectors from all NEAs, excluding Romania, have security access to Ripe and 80% are active users. They can search, filter and check data during an inspection. Without the portal, inspectors would need to obtain such information from their respective competent authority. The ECHA Forum expects Ripe will improve enforcement as it makes it easier by allowing direct data retrieval. Ripe is also used for active communication between ECHA and NEAs on cases requiring follow-up by the member states. For example, ECHA has notified NEAs of the statements of noncompliance (Soncs) it has issued, and has invited them to follow up such cases to ensure that the information requested by ECHA is provided via dossier update. The Forum expects the volume of Soncs to steadily increase.
