Polydopamine and Its Derivative Materials: Synthesis and Promising Applications in Energy, Environmental, and Biomedical Fields

摘要

The observation and investigation of phenomena in the natural world can inspire the discovery of new materials and a greater understanding of the underlying physical processes. The development of artificial superhydrophobic materials that mimic the self-cleaning of lotus leaves and the fabrication of periodic microstructures motivated by an examination of the color of butterfly wings are good examples of such discoveries from the fields of materials science and nanostructures.~(1?3) Research that extends from an examination of fascinating natural phenomena can lead to the development of advanced materials with outstanding properties, which may pave new ways for resolving key issues that long plagued scientist and therefore have quickly developed into a fruitful research field.
