Degussa Plans Fine Chemicals Write-Down;Continues Restructuring

Degussa says it will include write-downs totaling euro830 million(US1 billion)in its third-quarter accounts,related to the company's building blocks;exclusive synthesis and catalysts;and peroxy-gen chemical businesses.About euro710 million of the figure relates to goodwill,and the remaining euro120 million to undisclosed asset write-downs,the company says.
