摘要

Holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystals (HPDLCs) are electro-optic materials targeted for a number of applications in the telecommunication, photonic and display industries. Often, these materials are formed by periodic illumination of a prepolymcr mixture based on acrylate chemistry containing liquid crystal, surfactant and solubilizer. The inclusion of the surfactant octanoic acid and solubilizer n-vinyl pyrrolidinone (NVP) result in improved acrylato-based HPDLC performance. The eoncentration of these components can directly influence polymer formation in HPDLCs through reactivity or indirectly by plasticizing the reacting environment.
