摘要

Poly(sulfopropylbetaine) block copolymers with narrow molecular weight distributions have been synthesized for the first time. Group transfer polymerization (GTP) of 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl metiiacrylate with various alkyl niethacrylates (PDMAEMA-Woci-PAlkylMA) yields well-defined, near-mooodisperse precursor block copolymers. Subsequent betainization. with 1,3-propanesultone under mild conditions leads to hydrophilic-hydrophobic, sulfopropylbetaine block copolymers. The behavior of these betaine block copolyraers has been studied with respect to their adsorption/aggregation behavior in both aqueous and salt solution using surface tensiometry, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and aqueous gel permeation chromatography (AGPC).
