Combinatorial approach to metal mediated self-assembly of poly(thiophenes)

We are currently engaged in the preparation of new composite materials for use in the development of innovative polymer-based protonic devices. These materials are based on self-assembling polythiophene networks. Our approach uses small molecular bridges to tie-together and orient larger, rigid, rod-like polymers into structurally well defined aggregates (as schematically depicted in Figure I).
