摘要

The function of biopolymers, such as proteins, RNA and DNA, is strongly related to their secondary structure. Similar correlations have been found between the physical properties of synthetic polymers and the conformations of their macromolecular chains. In particular helix formation has recently received considerable interest as it can be used to control the organization of synthetic macromolecules at different hierarchical levels.
