摘要

Self-assembly of π-conjugated polymers achieved through head-to-tail regioregular alkylated polymer main chains or via block copolymer architectures has attracted much attention since the resulting highly ordered supramolecular assemblies have shown distinctive electrical and optical properties. Regioregular, head-to-tail poly(3-alkylthiophene)s which self-order into layered crystalline films show higher charge carrier mobilities and enhancement in electronic properties than regiorandom analogues and find device applications in field-effect transistors and photovoltaic cells due to their high hole mobility. Recently, we have successfully prepared two regioregular head-to-tail n-type poly(4-alkylquinoline)s, poly(4-hexylquinoline) (P4HQ) and poly(4-octylquinoline) (P4OQ), with the hope of enhancement in optoelectronic properties through self-assembly of well-defined layered structures and improvement of solubility in common organic solvents while keeping their excellent electron-accepting and transport properties.
