Conducting polymer sensors: new mechanisms for chemical specificity

Our research program is focused the development of new synthetics caffolds with well-defined (often-rigid) structures for the design of conducting polymers for sensor, display, and actuator applications. Our continuing efforts [1] in the design of sensory materials that utilize molecular recognition events to product changes in a polymer's conductivity will be presented.
