Praxair to Acquire German Industrial Gas Assets from Air Liquide

Praxair says it has reached an agreement with Air Liquide to purchase industrial gas assets and related businesses in Germany for euro497 million (US600 million).The deal is expected to close by year-end,subject to regulatory approval.The divestment is a condition of the European Commission's approval of Air Liquide's acquisition of Messer Griesheim's operations in Germany,the U.K.,and U.S.(CW,March 24,p- li)- The acquired businesses have sales of approximately ?180 million/year,and is[are] comprised of the southern portion of the Rhine/Ruhr pipeline,and the entire Saar pipeline,plus bulk distribution and packaged gas businesses.
