A new study from Freedonia predicts plastics will grow in this market by 2.8% annually in the U.S. over the next five years from a base of 2.7 million tonnes (4.87 billion 1b) in 2000. Polyethylene will remain the dominant film used, although much better growth is anticipated for polypropylene.
