Adiabatic temperatures, thermal characteristics, andthe concentration of reaction products in the system Ti-B4Ccontaining 1-99 mass%B4C are determined by thermodynamicanalysis using the ASTRA package of programs. In order toprepare alloys of titanium with titanium boride and titaniumcarbide in a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis regime amixture with 10-13mass%B4C is recommended, and for alloys ofboron carbide with titanium carbide a mixture containing 53-70mass%B4C is recommended.
