Danish priorities during its EUpresidency in H1 2012

It is a strong wish of the Danish governmentto facilitate a green transformation of the EUinto a greener and more resource efcientsociety. Te Presidency gives us a possibility tofollow up on the Europe 2020 strategy towardsa green economy for Europe to reach this goal.We consider the Commission’s “Roadmap to aResource Efcient Europe” as a cornerstone inthe green transformation that is needed forsteering Europe through not only the climateand resource crisis, but also the currentfnancial crisis. We propose that a new strongand focused Seventh Environment ActionProgramme (7EAP) will be an importantinstrument for realising these goals.
