摘要

The European Commission and ECHA have made it clear that they will use the recently published EU regulatory defnition of nanomaterials and that industry should follow suit, if necessary reassessing which of their materials fall under the defnition. They also want REACH registrants to use the defnition to prepare or update their registration dossiers. However, companies are critical of the defnition and say they cannot reassess their dossiers until the EU comes forward with clear guidance about how they should interpret it. Philippa Jones reports.
