摘要

As the development of the global economy, the consumption of the Dipropylene Glycol(DPG) is increasing year by year. DPG is a kind of important fine chemical material. It is an amphiphilic compound of low molecular weight and combine solvent (liquid state, volatility, low cost) property with water surface tension lowering and cosurfactant property, due to its ether bond and hydroxyl group, which is hydrophobic and hydrophilic, respectively. DPG can be synthesized through the reaction of Propylene Oxide(PO) with 1,2-Propanediol(1,2-PDO) over base or acid catalysts. In reaction process, many byproducts were generated due to the very activity of PO. Tripropylene Glycol can be synthesized by the reaction of DPG with PO, this process is called the secondary reaction. The compounds were made through three or more than three copolymerizations were called high polymer.
