摘要

Direct injection is a promising technology to improve the efficiency of gasoline engines.If a direct injected gasoline engine is properly operated with lean air/fuel (A/F) mixture,a 10-20% percent reduction of fuel consumption can be achieved.Three way catalysts (TWCs),however,are not able to reduce NO_X in the exhaust gas of an engine operating with lean A/F mixture due to the presence of oxygen.These compounds can be removed by nitrogen-oxides storage/reduction catalysts (NSR),for example Pt/BaCO_3/Al_2O_3 systems [1].
