摘要

Catalyst impregnation is a ubiquitous process within the catalyst manufacturing industry.It would be ideal if all of the components of a catalyst could simply be mixed together in a suitable mixer,then formed and heat treated as appropriate.However,such a procedure generally does not result in the catalytic properties required.In most cases,the support is formed first and desired components,usually metals,are added later.For example,for some common refining catalysts (e.g.reforming,hydrotreating),alumina is formed into various shapes and sizes and then treated with metal solutions (Pt,Mo,Co,etc.) in the correct quantity and form.
