The surveying and geospatial community is being made increasingly aware that a modernised geodetic datum is soon to be implemented by the ICSM. GDA94 contains distortions of up to 300mm in some areas. There is now universal acceptance by surveying and spatial practitioners with an understanding of datums that GDA94 is past its 'best before' date.
