The Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) is the catalytic conversion of syngas into a complex mixture of hydrocarbons and oxygenates. This process has received considerable attention in recent years by both the industrial and academic worlds as a way of exploiting the huge and cheap natural gas reserves located in remote areas, leading to high-grade fuels with a high added value (Diesel fuels with an high cetane number, sulphur- and aromatic-free).
