摘要

Among fossil energy resources, natural gas is one of the cleanest feedstocks, containing the least hetero-atoms such as sulfur, nitrogen, and heavy metals. Moreover, natural gas is reported to be as abundant as crude oil on an energy basis (1), and is produced worldwide. From these points of view, further utilization of natural gas is expected in the future. However, most of the small- and middle-scale natural gas fields in remote areas are not utilized because of the transportation cost. In order to reduce the cost, it is necessary to convert methane, the main component of natural gas, to liquid hydrocarbons, such as gasoline and distillates.
