摘要

Hydrogen can be produced using a variety of starting materials,both renewable and nonrenewable sources,via many different process routes.Of these,two basic process technologies have been most widely practiced,viz.,reformation of natural gas and electrolysis of water.Hydrogen,once regarded only as an industrial processing gas,is rapidly becoming a daily commodity chemical as well as an alternative transportation fuel.In the advent of the hydrogen economy,principal foci of hydrogen technology have therefore been shifted to the safe and affordable utilization of hydrogen as alternative fuel that must be based on seamless integration of generation,distribution,and storage technologies of hydrogen.
